The pendant consists of a double drop.
The top drop is made of polished 18ct yellow gold that is set with a pear shaped emerald weighing approximately 0.70ct. The emerald is set point down with two claws at the top and a 'V' shaped' claw at the point.
The second drop is made of polished platinum that is set with a pear shaped diamond weighting approximately 1.26ct. The diamond is set point up with two claws at the bottom and a 'V' shaped claw at the top.
The second drop is suspended from the top drop by a platinum link.
The sides of both the gold and platinum settings have been engraved with a sun ray design.
The top drop is suspended from a 'V' shaped bale by a platinum link and the front of the bale has been engraved with a sun ray design.
The pendant runs on a platinum trace chain that includes a Scarab London winged beetle shaped platinum plate.
The pendant is hallmarked by the London Assay office for platinum and 18ct gold, 2024 and bears the sponsors'' mark 'A&SP' for Alan & Sue Poultney together with the word 'Scarab' and the winged beetle logo.
The emerald is from the now closed Sandawana mine in Zimbabwe and has a minor oil treatment.
