In the centre of the brushed 18ct yellow gold ring is an oval black opal with a certified weight of 2.24ct set in a polished rubover setting.
The shoulders of the ring are stepped, each step being grain set with small round diamonds.
There are a total of 48 diamonds with a total estimated weight of 0.16ct.
The tapering shank is polished on the inside and is hallmarked by the London Assay Office for 18ct gold, 2022 and bears the sponsors' mark 'A&SP' for Alan & Sue Poultney.
The word 'Scarab' and the winged beetle logo have been lasered into the inside of the polished shank.
The opal was sourced from Australia via Alan Poultney Gems.
