In the centre of each platinum earring is a cushion cut blue sapphire.
The two sapphires have a total estimated weight of 9.54ct.
Each sapphire is set in four double claws within a platinum diamond set surround. There are twenty round diamonds in each earring, the forty diamonds having a total estimated weight of 0.45ct.
The earrings have posts and butterflies for pierced ears and are hallmarked by the London Assay Office for 2015, platinum and bear the sponsor's mark 'A&SP' for Alan & Sue Poultney.
Both sapphires were cut by Alan Poultney and are certified by the Gem & Pearl Laboratory as natural sapphires from Sri Lanka with no heat treatment.
